MANLY, RANDLE, WILLIAMS
I am seeking more information about Rev. John MANLY. His
children (specifically William C. MANLY) were born in Tennessee. I believe
John was born about 1789 in Virginia. He died on Dec. 26, 1831 at age 42
years in Henry County. He and his wives are buried at the Manly Camp Ground
Cemetery near Paris. His first wife was Martha W. (possibly known as "Patsy",
her last name could be WILLIAMS) who died on Feb. 12, 1822 at 31 years.
His second wife was Eveline and died on Jan. 25, 1835. Although listed
in the index of the 1830 Henry Co., Tennessee Census, I could not find
Rev. John MANLY in the census. I would like to find a list of his children,
confirm his birthplace and ultimately find John's parents and their birthplace.
John's father likely fought in the Revolutionary War and could have been
one of seven brothers who imigrated from Ireland. As a minister of the
church, I am hoping that there are some records available which may help
to paint a picture of his life. Richard MANLY and Hamblin MANLY
(listed the Henry Co. Census) are likely his brothers. I would also
like any information known about the James RANDLE family listed in the
1850 Henry County Census. John's son William C. MANLY married James Randle's
daughter Geraldine. Having just discovered the village of Manlyville near
Paris, I would like to know the history of this village as well. Your help
would be much appreciated. I'd be happy to share my family files.

Am currently researching husbands genealogy, specifically the CABE
family from Henry County, Tennessee. The fathers name was Henry CABE and
he married a woman named Manicia or Manesha (unk. maiden name) and was
listed in the Henry County census in 1860. Their children at that time
were Savannah, Rebecca A. , and Amanda J. We do not find them in the census
records after that time. My husbands GGrandmother is Rebecca and she married
a William Bess in Stoddard County, Mo. on March 31, 1873. There are no
records for CABE's in Mo. on any cansus records...and we don't know how
she got to Mo. or why the others are not found in Mo. or Tenn after that.
We have been told that the Cabe family was Cherokee and that may be the
reason we find them so elusive. Would appreciate any information that anyone
has on this family and am hoping to find the maiden name or Manicia or
Manesha (Henry CABE's wife), as it is an unusual name. Thanx Tami Hopkins
