NICHOLS, HUNTSMAN
I'm researching my gg-grandfather, A.J. Nichols. He is shown in
Calloway Co. Ky. on the 1850 census but the birthplace of his
children is shown as Tenn. Another document that I have makes
reference to A.J. being from Henry Co. Tenn. If anyone can
confirm
this for me (census, tax rolls,etc.), I would be extremely
greatful.

I am researching the Robert WREN family of Henry County, Tn. He
was
born in 1804 in North Carolina and died in Henry County, date
not
known. He was married to Mahala WREN , born 1806 in North
Carolina.
He had 9 children; Joel, who moved to Hickman County, Ky before
1861. Charles Craig who joined either N or S and became a
Capt.Robert, Emily, Caroline, Martha, Mary, Joshaphine, Melvina
remained in the Henry County area. Charles Craig WREN is buried
in
Muskogee, Ok., where he died on Jan. 6, 1906.

Edward HALL b. 1786 in NC m. 23 Jun 1813 in Mecklenburg Co., NC,
Ann
ALLEN. She was born abt 1797 in NC. I found them 1840 through
1860
on the census records of Henry Co., TN. James R. ALLEN was the
administrator of Edward HALL's will in Henry Co. in 1860. I
believe that Edward was the son of James HALL and Mary McCURDY.
I am
interested in finding out who the parents of Ann ALLEN were.
Also
need to verify Edward's parentage. Would like to correspond with
any
descendants of this couple. Their granddaughter was part indian
and I
am very interested in finding this indian line. Any help you can

I am searching for Jacob MEEK and wife Mary. Jacob died around
1824,
and had several children. His daughter Eleanor, married Hiram
LANGSTON around 1824 or 25 and I am dec. from their dau. Mary
Eliz.
LANGSTON who married John SMALLEY. Hiram and Eleanor left Henry
Co.
and went to Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas and settled in Rusk
Co.,
Texas where they died after 1850. Mary Eliz. and John SMALLEY
left
Texas and settled in Jackson Co., Kansas where they had several

YARBROUGH AND ATCHISON
I am looking for the parents of my Great Great Grandparents who

WREN
I am looking for information on the Robert and Mahala WREN
family of
Henry County, Tennessee. They arrived in this County around
before
1850 from North Carolina where they both were born and married.
Their
first child; Joel was born in TN., (County not known).
Craig was born in 1835 in Henry County. All other children were
born
in Henry County; Robert 1838, Emily 1840, Caroline 1842, Martha
1844, Mary 1846, Josephine 1849 and date of birth for Melvina
not
known. Only Craig, who became a Capt. in the CSA was the only
one
to leave Henry County after the war. He then migrated to
Dangerfield, Texas where he married and went into business.
Joel,
prior to the war had moved on to farm in Hickman County, KY.
According to notes from Craigs grandson, his female siblings all
married and remained in the Henry County area. Will be happy to
share
all the information that I have.

AERY, CABE
Am looking for any information on a MANESHA, MANICIA, or MANEA
CABE
nee AERY married to Henry Cabe before 1850-1860 census. Both
were
listed in Henry and Weakley Co. Tennessee census with daughters
Amanda and Rebecca in 1850 and 1860 respectively. Henry was
reported
to have been killed in war and Manesha moved to Bloomfield, Mo.
which
was primarily a Cherokee town at that time to live with
relatives.
According to library newspaper records Rebecca Cabe was supposed
to
be of Cherokee heritage. We have been unable to trace Maneshas
family
any further back. May also have been Chickasaw according to Tennessee Archival staff because of counties they were living
in (Henry and Weakley) . Any information would be appreciated.

HOUSDEN
The HOUSDEN family migrated from Shenandoah (now Page) County,
Virginia
to Williamson County, Tennessee between 1818 and 1820. At least
part
of the family were in Henry County by the 1850 Census. I
understand
that some HOUSDENS may still in Henry County and are certainly
in
Calloway County, Kentucky today. Associated surnames in Henry
County
are SMITH, BEDWELL AND FREELAND. Associated surnames in
Williamson
County: GIBBS,
CHAMBERLAIN, BROWN, GUY, CROCKER, LEEK, SHORT. I have just
discovered
that the father of one of the HOUSDEN's born in Calloway County
in

I am looking for the parents of Elbert Sexton Gray. He was born

11, 1865 and died in Henry, Co. Aug. 22, 1922. He married Mary

John LILLY and his brother Thomas entered Henry Co. when it was
first
opened for settlers. They were from Montgomery Co., N.C. and had
been waiting in Stewart Co. with relatives (RANDLES) for Indians
to
be cleared out of what is today Henry Co. They helped build
first
and second Manly Chapel Churches and always attended camp
meetings.
Cannot connect John and Thomas to their father in N.C.
Thought to also have a brother, Nathaniel. John's son, Thomas
Franklin LILLY m. (1) Minerva HASSELL, (2) Mary (Polly)
UPCHURCH, (3)
Jane Boyd RANDLE. His dtrs married William A " Buck"
THROGMORTON,
Ashton HAWKINS, and Edward Jeremiah MOODY. An oblisque monument
was
erected and still stands at MANLY Chapel cemetery. Any

George ATKINS. Who was his mother? Where did they live before

Co TN. William first married a McCLAIN, then Nancy STEWART, then
Clementine HALL. I think William was an attorney or Justice of
the

POOLE, POOL
Have researched the POOLE Family to some degree in Henry County.
Last
found record of Sanders POOLE(POOL) serving in the Confederate
Army
which was recorded in the Muster Roll. Looks like he was
captured at
Island No. 10. He was my great -great-great grandfather. Need
land or
any other information previous to 1880.
