Davis, \r\nFarmerville, \r\nUnion Parish, Louisiana\r\n\r\n\r\nTippecanoe\r\nHenderson County, Tn\r\nMarch 30, 1845\r\n\r\nDear Brother and sister,\r\n\r\nI now take my pen and set down to inform you the terms and our health \r\nand so forth. Your connections ar all well as usuall except for \r\nFarnsell Davis. He has been sick with cold and is confined yet but \r\nsome better. Uncle Michall Montgomery is ded. He died the 1st day of \r\nJanuary last. The balance are all well. We have had a very warm winter \r\nand dry with the exception one rainey spell and cool spell in this \r\nmonth which has killed the peaches and some appel. Tho there will be \r\nsome appel and pears if there is no more frost. We ar planting corn \r\nand have spring like weather now. We are all well pleasd on the \r\naccount Mr. Stark who brought us good news from you and the cap to \r\nmother is gladly received and which she prizes highly for which \r\nshe wish you to excep her thanks.\r\n\r\nAll so the book for which you must excep my thanks. Mr. Starks speaks \r\nwell of you and is pleasd with his treatment while with you. \r\nOld Mrs. Stars was taken sick and very low. Mr. Starks has told \r\nJohn B. about his place you have for him and would like to be on \r\nit but it is very doubtfull if he ever move there.\r\n\r\nFather talks of going to see you this Fall and I go home with you \r\nif you will come.\r\n\r\nYes, Green, I want you to come if life last. If you will come, I will go \r\nwith you if you will excep of my company. Mr. Stark said that you had \r\na bow for me. I was glad to here it.\r\n\r\nSarah A.
