{"id":992,"date":"2014-01-30T16:27:32","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=992"},"modified":"2014-01-30T16:29:08","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T21:29:08","slug":"anderson-thomas-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/anderson-thomas-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Thomas Anderson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Pages 126-127<br \/>\nProven:\u00a0December 1, 1873<\/p>\n<p>State of Tennessee, Hawkins County:<\/p>\n<p>I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Thomas Anderson<\/span>, being of sound mind and perfect memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8211; I give and bequeath to my beloved wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Anderson<\/span>, all my household and kitchen furniture together with our sorrel mare during her natural life.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly &#8211; I give and bequeath to my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Williams<\/span> the house where I live including the lot of land as has already been deeded to her.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly &#8211; I give and bequeath to my daughter in law <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Anderson<\/span> and her heirs the house where she now lives and eight acres of land around said house.<\/p>\n<p>Fourthly &#8211; I give and bequeath to my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Harrel<\/span> and her heirs the house where she now lives and eight acres of land around said house.<\/p>\n<p>Fifthly &#8211; I give and bequeath to my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Payne<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James W. Payne<\/span> the house where they now live and eight acres of land around said house during their natural life.<\/p>\n<p>And the remainder of my land to be equally divided between <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Williams<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Anderson<\/span> and her heirs <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Harrel<\/span> and her heirs, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Payne<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James W. Payne<\/span> and at the death of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Payne<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James W. Payne<\/span>, their portion of the land to fall back to my lawful heirs.<\/p>\n<p>Sixthly &#8211; I will and bequeath that all my money notes and property be equally divided between <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Williams<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Anderson<\/span> and her heirs, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Harrell<\/span> and her heirs, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Payne<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James W. Payne<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>I hereby nominate and appoint <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">David D.
