{"id":990,"date":"2014-01-30T16:26:04","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=990"},"modified":"2014-01-30T16:27:09","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T21:27:09","slug":"wells-nancy-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/wells-nancy-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Nancy Wells"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Page 125<br \/>\nProven: November 3, 1873<\/p>\n<p>I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Wells<\/span> being of sound mind and memory, knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life, do make this my last will and testament.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8211; I will to the Almighty God my soul who gave it.<\/p>\n<p>Second &#8211; my funeral expenses are to be paid out of my estate.<\/p>\n<p>Third &#8211; I will all my lands to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Resa Wells<\/span>, during her life time, and after her death to be divided equally ___ my two nephews, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reanua Wells<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Joseph Bradshaw<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>I will to my niece <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Samantha Click<\/span> fifty dollars, to be paid out of part of the notes I hold against <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Robert Cooper<\/span>\u00a0and to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bachman Wells<\/span>, fifty dollars to be paid out of any notes, which I may have at my death\u00a0and to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William Harvey Ratliff<\/span>, fifty dollars to be paid from any notes which I may hold as the above.<\/p>\n<p>Also fifty dollars equally divided between <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Lee<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Francis Dodson<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>I will the note I have against <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ephriam Brown<\/span> to be placed in the hands of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reanua Wells<\/span> and the interest of said note to be paid annually to the preacher in charge for the time being as quarter ago, and at the death of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reanua Wells<\/span>, the principle of said note to be safely invested and the interest to be perpetually paid as before directed to the Preacher of the Methodist Episcopal Church South at Lebanon, Hawkins County, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>I will all the remainder of my property to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Resa Wells<\/span> during her life and at her death I desire from the proceeds of said property fifty dollars to be paid <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">___ Wells<\/span>, daughter of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ben Wells<\/span> and fifty dollars to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rosannah Wells<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>I hereby appoint <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reanua Wells<\/span> my executor to see that this my last will is carried out as I have directed, dated this 11 day of October eighteen hundred and seventy three.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Wells<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Witnesses:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Robert Cooper<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> John W.
