{"id":984,"date":"2014-01-30T16:17:55","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=984"},"modified":"2014-01-30T16:20:51","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T21:20:51","slug":"dalzell-nancy-mrs-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/dalzell-nancy-mrs-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Mrs. Nancy Dalzell"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Page 122<br \/>\nDate:\u00a0October 13, 1866<br \/>\nProven:\u00a0September 1, 1873<\/p>\n<p>In the name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n<p>I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Dalzell<\/span> of the town of Rogersville, Hawkins County State of Tennessee being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God this thirteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and sixty six do make and publish this last will and testament in manner following, that is to say.<\/p>\n<p>Having adopted my nephew <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Frances Dalzell Alexander<\/span>, son of my brother <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Dicks Alexander<\/span>, when a child and he having resided with my since he was about twenty one months old and attended to my business carefully and taken care of me, and always intending to make him my solo heir.<\/p>\n<p>I do therefore give and bequeath unto the said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Frances Dalzell Alexander<\/span>, all of my personal property, consisting of bonds and notes on various individuals for borrowed money, sum of which suits have been instituted thereon and all debts and accounts coming to me or which may hereafter be due to me and all my household and kitchen furniture.<\/p>\n<p>Also the house and lots whereon I reside adjoining the brick dwelling house in which the widow of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William Simpson<\/span> deceased resides in said town of Rogersville, including also my real and personal estate whatsoever to hold to him the said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Frances Dalzell<\/span>, my adopted son and to his heirs and assignees forever.<\/p>\n<p>And in order that the said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Frances Dalzell Alexander<\/span> may be ___ ___ use my debts etc for his use and benefit, I do hereby appoint him my Executor of this my last will and testament, and require that the court shall not require him to give bond for the execution of his official duties as all my estate is willed to him.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Dalzell<\/span> (Seal)<\/p>\n<p>Signed, Sealed, Published and ___ by the said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Dalzell<\/span> the testatrix as her last will and testament in the presence of us, who were present at the time of signing and sealing thereof.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William M. Piper<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> William White<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Proven by the oaths of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William M.
