{"id":934,"date":"2014-01-30T01:11:52","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=934"},"modified":"2014-01-30T01:13:50","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T06:13:50","slug":"harrison-polly-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/harrison-polly-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Polly Harrison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Page 49<br \/>\nFiled and proven: April 6, 1868<\/p>\n<p>I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Polly Harrison<\/span> of the County of Hawkins State of Tennessee knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and being weak in body but sound of mind and memory do hereby make and constitute the following my last will and testament.<\/p>\n<p>Item 1st. My will and desire is that at my death, my body may be decently buried In a plain manner and that the expenses be paid out of any monies I have on hand. I also want my just debts paid in like manner should I have any at my death.<\/p>\n<p>Item 2nd. I will and bequeath to my three daughters, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Armstrong<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sallie Miller<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Polly Parrish<\/span> ten dollars each to be paid as herein after, I having heretofore provided for them.<\/p>\n<p>Item 3rd. I will and bequeath to my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Buram Harrison<\/span> and his heirs the tract of land I now live on it being the land I bought of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">P. Buram<\/span> and his on the south of Holston River joining <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A. Charles<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">A. S. Buram<\/span> and others said to contain 96 acres, this I do because he has provided for me in my old age.<\/p>\n<p>Item 4th. I will and bequeath to my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Seba Hammer<\/span> on account of her attention to me in my old age the just and full sum of four hundred dollars, which sum is to be paid to her as hereafter provided.<\/p>\n<p>Item 5th &#8211; I will and bequeath all the residue of my property to my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Buram Harrison<\/span> of all and every kind whatever land and except so much as is claimed by my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Seba Hammer<\/span> which I design her to have with the further understanding that he the said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Buram Harrison<\/span> is to pay the several bequests herein provided and that he pay to my said daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Seba Hammer<\/span> the said four hundred dollars when she may call for the same, it being what I design for her instead of a portion of the land<\/p>\n<p>and I do hereby nominate and appoint my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Buram Harrison<\/span> the Executor of this my last will and testament.<\/p>\n<p>In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12 day of September 1855.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Polly<\/span> [<span style=\"font-style: italic\">X<\/span>] <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Harrison<\/span> (her mark) (Seal)<\/p>\n<p>Interlined with words: and his heirs before signed.<\/p>\n<p>Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us date above:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Jacob Miller<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> W.
