{"id":924,"date":"2014-01-30T01:00:02","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=924"},"modified":"2014-01-30T01:01:08","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T06:01:08","slug":"anderson-polly-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/anderson-polly-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Polly Anderson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Page 53<br \/>\nProven: May, 1866<\/p>\n<p>(blank spaces indicate unreadable words or letters)<\/p>\n<p>Copy of Last Will and Testament &#8230; which is in words and figures to wit:<\/p>\n<p>I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Polly Anderson<\/span> do make and publish this as my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8211; I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any moneys that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my executor.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly &#8211; I give and bequeath to my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ampuda Anderson<\/span> my town lot in Rogersville one bed and bedding one bureau and safe one clock and stove and all my cooking utensils and also one cow and calf one wagon and fifteen head of hogs, six chairs one dining table and small table and also fifty five dollars due by <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ted Netherland<\/span> to be paid in corn in the fall 1866 and all my shelf ware and all my farming utensils.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly &#8211; I will and bequeath to my grandson <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Henry Johnson<\/span> one special cow.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly &#8211; I give and bequeath to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Lidda<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hannah<\/span> one bed to be equally divided between them three.<\/p>\n<p>Fourthly &#8211; I will and bequeath that my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ampuda<\/span> pay to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Lidda<\/span> ___ ___ <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William S. Blevins<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Walter Blevins<\/span> twenty five dollars each.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly &#8211; I do hereby nominate and appoint <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William Alvis<\/span> my executor<\/p>\n<p>in witness whereof I do to this my will set my hand and seal this the 31st day of March 1866.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Polly<\/span> [<span style=\"font-style: italic\">X<\/span>] <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Anderson<\/span> (her mark) (Seal)<\/p>\n<p>Signed, sealed and published in our presence and we have subscribed our names hereto in the presence of the testator this the 31st day of March 1866.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James S.
