\nFiled and Proven 6th Day of July 1868<\/p>\n
Copy of Last Will and Testament … which is in words and figures to wit:<\/p>\n
I John A. Couch<\/span> do make and publish this as my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at anytime made.<\/p>\n First – I direct that my funeral expenses and all debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any moneys that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my executors.<\/p>\n Secondly – I want enough of my personal property sold by my executors to be disposed of to the best advantage to the payments of any debts not setting apart or keeping back anything by being allowed under the law so that things may disposed of to the best advantage for my wife and minor children.<\/p>\n Thirdly – I want my wife Peggy Ann<\/span> to have the management of my family concerns and what property may be necessary for her own and the use of my minor children during her widowhood or natural lifetime.<\/p>\n Fourthly – I want my daughter, Elizabeth<\/span>, and my daughter, Mary<\/span>‘s heirs, and Peter<\/span>, my son, and my daughter, Eliza<\/span>, and my son, Issac<\/span>, and my son, George<\/span>, and my son, John<\/span>, and my daughter, Sarah<\/span>, and my daughter, Josaphine<\/span>, and my son, Sherdinan<\/span>, all to share equal in my land and all other property and affects whatever may be at the time of my youngest heir coming of twenty one years of age also if it should be that my wife is living as my widow at that time she is to have her maintenance off my lands while she remains my widow.<\/p>\n And lastly – I do appoint Josiah F. Self<\/span> and Lazarus Couch<\/span> my executors in witness whereof I do to this my last will set my hand and seal this 11th day of March 1868.<\/p>\n John A.
