{"id":782,"date":"2014-01-27T19:57:45","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T00:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=782"},"modified":"2014-01-29T21:04:57","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T02:04:57","slug":"harlin-thomas-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/harlin-thomas-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Thomas Harlin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Will Book __, Page 239<br \/>\nAugust 15, 1811<\/p>\n<p>In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n<p>I <b>Thomas Harlin<\/b> of Hawkins County and State of Tennessee, being very sick and weak, or imperfect health of body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same, and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will &amp; Testament, (Viz):<\/p>\n<p>Principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God.<\/p>\n<p>And, as touching such worldly estate with which it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner (Viz).<\/p>\n<p>I give and bequeath to my loving wife <b>Elizabeth <\/b>all my property (after all just debts are paid) and the use of the land until my son <b>John <\/b>shall arrive at lawful age.<\/p>\n<p>2nd. It is my desire for her to have her third her life time.<\/p>\n<p>3rd. Then it is my desire when <b>John<\/b> comes to age for an equal division of the two thirds to take place, and at her-my wife <b>Elizabeth<\/b>&#8216;s-death, an equal division of her one third to take place.<\/p>\n<p>In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal, This 15th August, A.D., 1811.<\/p>\n<p><b>Thomas<\/b> [<em>X<\/em>]<b> Harlin<\/b> (seal) (his mark)<\/p>\n<p>Test:<\/p>\n<p><b>P.
