The cemetery was created prior to the creation of Hamblen Co so many folks from Hawkins Co are buried there. A survey of the cemetery was completed in the 1930s and again in the 1980s. There were only about 20 or so tombstones with names and since then some of them have disappeared. Approximately 125 unmarked graves are there. I know about 15 of the unmarked ones but that leaves many unknown. My family is going to erect a marker with the names of all known burials who don&#8217;t have a private marker next summer. If any of you have relatives buried there please let me know. He used his biological father&#8217;s surname of ROGERS on his marriage bond. They lived and raised their family in McMinn Co. Tn. Family legend has his mother as being Sally Lawson, dau. of John Lawson. We are trying to prove that. Mary &#8220;Polly&#8221; Hart&#8217;s parents are also unknown to us. Geo. Rogers was supposed to have been from Hawkins Co. Tn. and his father, William Rogers also. Hope someone knows about this family and will contact me. They had a daughter Mary Jane MILLIKEN b. 1842 in Hawkins Co TN and who married a William LUTON in KY. Mary Jane and William then moved to Missouri where they lived and raised their family. I have no information on Ellis MILLIKEN or Allie WOLFE other than they were Mary Jane&#8217;s parents. I believe Mary Jane had a sister Alice.
