My 4th great-grandfather, Henry Price, was born ca. 1769 and died in October 1808.\u00a0 He married Catherine Wax in Winchester, VA, in 1787 and they moved to Hawkins Co., TN, where Henry owned 200 acres on Cloud’s Creek in the Choptack community.\u00a0 Many of the Hawkins Co. Prices trace their ancestry to this couple.\u00a0 Henry Price was on a trip to Bedford County, VA, in 1808 when he contacted typhoid and died.<\/p>\n
This inventory of his possessions is interesting, as it shows what a person may have taken with him when traveling in the early 1800’s, and what Henry Price considered necessary to carry with him in his travels.<\/p>\n
