{"id":1881,"date":"2014-03-11T15:09:37","date_gmt":"2014-03-11T19:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1881"},"modified":"2014-03-11T15:09:37","modified_gmt":"2014-03-11T19:09:37","slug":"rouse-nancy-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/rouse-nancy-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Nancy Rouse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Will Book ___, Page 425<\/p>\n<p> I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Rouse<\/span> do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made.<\/p>\n<p> First of all, I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money that I may die possessed of, or may first come into the hands of my Executors.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, I give and bequeath to my beloved son, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John Rouse<\/span>, my tract of land, lying on the south side of Clinch Mountain in Little Poor Valley, also on the left prong of Cove Creek, beginning and running as follows:<\/p>\n<p> Beginning on a poplar and hickory on or near <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Michael<\/span>&#8216;s corner, then south forty one, east fifty poles to an oak and beech. Then north fifty five, east two hundred and eight poles to a stake. Then north thirty, east one hundred poles to a stake. Then north sixty five,east twenty poles to a stake on <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Shanks<\/span>&#8216; line. Then north thirty, west forty poles to a stake. Then south fifty, west three hundred and thirty five poles to the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>And, thirdly, I will and bequeath to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Smith<\/span> &amp; <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Purcell<\/span> &amp; <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Hart<\/span> my beloved daughters, equally, all my household and kitchen furnitures<\/p>\n<p> and fourthly, I will and bequeath that all my horses and cattle and hogs and all other plantation property that I may die possessed of may be equally divided between all my children.<\/p>\n<p> In witness whereof I do set my hand and seal This June 13th, 1842.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Nancy<\/span> [<span style=\"font-style: italic\">X<\/span>] <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rouse<\/span> (seal) (her mark)<\/p>\n<p>Signed and sealed and published in our presence &amp; we have subscribed our names here in the presence of the Testator:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James Y.
