In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n
I, Thomas Roberts<\/b> of Hawkins County, the State of Tennessee, being of bad health but of sound mind, I make this my last Will & Testament in words following, to wit:<\/p>\n
I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Matilda Roberts<\/b> during her lifetime or widowhood, the plantation where I now live, to have all profits arising from the same.<\/p>\n
Also, all my personal property of all kinds out doors and in the house, not to be sold nor squandered by any person with the exception of some things hereafter mentioned.<\/p>\n
I will and bequeath to my son James Roberts<\/b> one sorrel filly the one that he claims, also one rifle gun.<\/p>\n
And at my death to a saddle and bridle and martins gills [sic<\/span>] and my great coat.<\/p>\n I will and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth<\/b> one bed and furniture and one cow.<\/p>\n And I also upon the condition that William Pety<\/b> lives here till he is 21, he is to have a colt worth $20.00 or $25.00.<\/p>\n And I will that at the death of my wife that Mary Mooney<\/b> have $10.00 worth of property.<\/p>\n The heirs of Theoffolous Roberts<\/b> to have $10.00 worth of property,<\/p>\n William Roberts<\/b> $10.00 worth of property.<\/p>\n Tomson Roberts<\/b> to have $10.00 worth of property.<\/p>\n Nathaniel Roberts<\/b> to have $10.00 worth of property,<\/p>\n and Wiley Roberts<\/b> to have $10.00 worth of property,<\/p>\n and I also will if my daughter Elizabeth<\/b> and my son James<\/b> lives with and takes care of me and my wife during our lifetime, then at our death James<\/b> is to have all my farming tools and all the balance of my and all the personal property to be divided equally between the said Elizabeth<\/b> & James Roberts<\/b>.<\/p>\n Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal.
