In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n
I, Richard Robertson<\/span> of Hawkins County, State of Tennessee, one of the United States of America, being of sound and perfect mind and memory, do make, ordain and declare this instrument which is subscribed with my own name to be my last Will & Testament, revoking all others.<\/p>\n Imprimis. All of my debts of which there are but few and none of magnitude are to be punctually and speedily paid, and the legacies hereinafter bequeathed are to be paid as soon as circumatances will permit, and in the manner directed.<\/p>\n Item To my dearly beloved wife Mary Robbertson<\/span> [as transcribed<\/span>], I give and bequeath my whole estate both real and personal during her natural life or widowhood.<\/p>\n My wife Mary<\/span> is required to raise and school my son Caleb<\/span> out of the aforesaid personal property until he is 21 years of age, then he is to have a good horse, saddle and bridle out of the personal property which I have left in the hands of my wife.<\/p>\n Also, my son Caleb<\/span> is to have a good feather bed and furniture, also a good cow and calf when he arrives at the age of 21.<\/p>\n Also my said wife with my Executors hereinafter named is hereby empowered to collect and receive all money due me on bonds, notes or otherwise.<\/p>\n Also, my s’d wife and Executors are empowered to sell any of the personal property they may think proper &c after my son Caleb<\/span> has received what is above named to him.<\/p>\n I will that my wife Mary<\/span> have, hold possess &c the balance of my estate both real and personal during her natural lifetime or widowhood,<\/p>\n and if my s’d wife Mary<\/span> should marry, my will is that my Executors shall take charge of s’d Estate until my son Caleb<\/span> become 21 years of age,<\/p>\n at which time my will is that my real Estate be equally divided between my sons, to wit: John<\/span>, Richard T.<\/span>, James<\/span>, William<\/span>, Hezekiah<\/span>, Jesse<\/span> and Caleb Robertson<\/span>.<\/p>\n And further, I will that my personal estate be equally divided between my daughters. to wit: Nancy Boatman<\/span>, Dorcas Perkipile<\/span>, Sary Austin<\/span>, Jane Crosby<\/span>, Mary Talley<\/span>, Elizabeth Talley<\/span>, Laming Harrier<\/span> and Matilda Harrier<\/span>.<\/p>\n And further, I appoint my loving wife Mary Robertson<\/span> my lawful Executrix, and John Robertson<\/span> and Charles Talley<\/span> Executors of this my last Will & Testament,<\/p>\n hereby disannuling all former wills by me made, and ratify and confirm this my last Will & Testament.<\/p>\n Richard<\/span> [X<\/span>] Robertson<\/span> (his mark)<\/p>\n Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Richard Robertson<\/span> to be his last Will & Testament in the presence of us This twenty first day of June in the year of our Lord, eighteen hundred and thirty-one.<\/p>\n Witness:<\/p>\n John Donaldson<\/span> This Hawkins County Will was transcribed by one of the following volunteers: Audrae Mathis; Gary Fletcher; Betty Mize; Diana Arney; Karen Negron, Kathey Welder.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Will Book ___, Page 421 In the Name of God, Amen.
