{"id":1837,"date":"2014-03-10T21:53:20","date_gmt":"2014-03-11T01:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1837"},"modified":"2014-03-10T21:53:20","modified_gmt":"2014-03-11T01:53:20","slug":"forgey-andrew-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/forgey-andrew-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Andrew Forgey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Will Book ___, Page 182<\/p>\n<p>[Transcriber&#8217;s note: See original will]<\/p>\n<p> In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n<p> I, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Andrew Forgey<\/span> being weak in body but sound in mind and memory do make this my last Will &amp; Testament in manner and form as follows, to wit:<\/p>\n<p> I do will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Isabella my house and one third part of the plantation, with all my farming tools, wagon excepted, which is to be given to my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John<\/span> at my decease,<\/p>\n<p>and all my household and kitchen furniture and my negro man <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bachus<\/span> to my wife during her life.<\/p>\n<p>I do also bequeath unto her all my stock of horses, cattle, hogs &amp; sheep so long as she may live<\/p>\n<p>except one horse to the value of fifty dollars and a saddle and bridle to be worth seventeen dollars which is to be given to my bound boy <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Harvey Taylor<\/span> when he shall arrive at the age of 21 years old.<\/p>\n<p>At my death I do bequeath unto my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John<\/span> the two remaining thirds of my land,<\/p>\n<p>and at the death of my wife, I do will unto said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John<\/span> my negro man <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bachus<\/span>, together with the dower that is set apart for my wife which includes all my landed possessions<\/p>\n<p>and all the property, stock, household, and kitchen furniture remaining at the death of my wife is to be equally distributed between my two daughters <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Margaret Crawford<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rebecah Crawford<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>And I do hereby nominate and appoint <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Smith Hale<\/span> and my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John Forgey<\/span> Executors to carry this my last Will &amp; Testament fully into effect.<\/p>\n<p>In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal, This 13th day of August, 1830.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Andrew Forgey<\/span> (seal)<\/p>\n<p> Attest:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">B.
