{"id":1803,"date":"2014-03-10T20:46:30","date_gmt":"2014-03-10T23:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1803"},"modified":"2014-03-10T20:49:00","modified_gmt":"2014-03-11T00:49:00","slug":"wells-randolph-dulaney-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/wells-randolph-dulaney-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Randolph Dulaney Wells"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Will Book ___, Page 504<br \/> Proven: May Term, 1860<\/p>\n<p> I <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Randolph Dulaney Wells<\/span> of the County of Hawkins and State of Tennessee, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, but weak and feeble of body, considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and for the purpose of settling my worldly affairs as far as may be, do make, publish and declare the following to be my last Will &amp; Testament, hereby revoking and making void all wills which I may have made any time heretofore.<\/p>\n<p>First. It is my will and desire that my Executor hereinafter named shall out of the first money that may come into his hands shall defray my funeral expenses and pay all my just debts.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly. It is my will and desire and I do direct that my dearly beloved wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Matilda Wells<\/span> shall have all the property that belonged to her at the time of our marriage &#8212; consisting of the following negroes, to wit: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Eveline<\/span> and her two children <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sally<\/span> &amp; <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Margaret<\/span>; <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Caroline<\/span> and her child <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy<\/span> or <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nan<\/span> and that she have all other property whether is consisted of goods, chattels, money or any other valuable thing whatsoever that belonged to her at the time of the marriage aforesaid.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly. It is my will and desire that all the balance of my property, with the exception hereafter named, shall be divided between my wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Matilda<\/span> and my little son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John R. Wells<\/span> as follows: One third thereof to my said wife..and two thirds thereof to my said son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John R. Wells<\/span>, reserving, however, to the said <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John R. Wells<\/span> the household furniture that belonged to his mother and reserving to my wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Matilda<\/span> $25.00 in cash.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly. I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my friend <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Richard S. Horner<\/span> my Executor of this my last Will &amp; Testament.<\/p>\n<p>In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal.
