In the year 1784 I was a chain carier <em>[sic]<\/em> in runing <em>[sic]<\/em> off the lands for the officers and soldiers of North Carolina and after the publick business was finished General Rutherford &amp; a part of the company turned up the main Tennessee to look for land to enter &amp; our agreement was when we found land to draw lots we appointed General Rutherford our entry taker. and he was to enter it in N. Carolina as we did with him and your petitioner entered Two Tracts with him Each 640 acres, the one on a Creek we then called Camp Creek the other on Cathies Creek.<\/p>\n<p>My Horse gave out and I could not get to N. Carolina myself untill <em>[sic]<\/em> the ofice <em>[sic]<\/em> was shut my enteries <em>[sic]<\/em> cannot be found in the records in this country.
