{"id":1688,"date":"2014-02-11T18:27:18","date_gmt":"2014-01-26T07:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1688"},"modified":"2014-02-11T18:28:21","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T23:28:21","slug":"vaughan-james-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/vaughan-james-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of James Vaughan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: 24px\">Will Book __, Page 474<\/p>\n<p>In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n<p>I, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James Vaughan<\/span> of Hawkins County, being in moderate health, knowing that it is appointed that all men has to die, therefore, I commit my soul to God who gave it, and I do constitute this my Will &amp; Testament in manner and form as follows, Viz:<\/p>\n<p>My will and desire is that my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John Vaughan<\/span> shud hold all the perishable property, the one half to be kept for the well support of my beloved wife, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sally Vaughan<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Then my will and desire is that my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John<\/span> shud have the land and plantation whereon I now live containing 100 acres, also 30 acres known by the (name of) <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Wooten<\/span> Place, also an entry of 30 acres lying on the north side of the copper ridge which has not been surveyed,<\/p>\n<p>then my will and desire is that the part of my land lying on Clinch River shud be rented till the death of my beloved wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sally Vaughan<\/span> for her support, and at her death my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John<\/span> may sell the same or keep it,<\/p>\n<p>tho my will and desire is if my just debts are paid at the death of my wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sally<\/span>, and my son <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John<\/span> sees cause to keep said river tract of land, my will and desire is that he shud pay <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William Vaughan<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Allen Vaughan<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Donnelson<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Patsy Rogers<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Harrel<\/span> $50.00 each in money or good trade, if they see cause to take such.<\/p>\n<p>And lastly, I appoint my son_ [<span style=\"font-style: italic\">as transcribed<\/span>] <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James Vaughan<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Joseph Vaughan<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benjamin Vaughan<\/span> Executors of this my last Will &amp; Testament.<\/p>\n<p>Signed, sealed.
