{"id":1666,"date":"2014-02-11T16:27:36","date_gmt":"2014-01-26T07:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1666"},"modified":"2014-02-11T16:28:44","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T21:28:44","slug":"north-edward-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/north-edward-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Edward North"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: 24px\">Will Book __, Page 386<\/p>\n<p>In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n<p>I <b>Edward North<\/b> of Hawkins County, State of Tennessee, being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God.<\/p>\n<p>Calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will &amp; Testament, that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth, to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life, I give and devise &amp; dispose of the same in the following manner and form:<\/p>\n<p>First. I give and bequeath unto my [daughter?] <b>Elizabeth<\/b> one dollar, my sons <b>Tom<\/b> &amp; <b>William<\/b>, Daughter <b>Leah<\/b>, wife <b>Eliza<\/b>, daughter <b>Polly<\/b> and daughter <b>Nancy<\/b> all my movable property to be equally divided among the above named (viz) my wife <b>Eliza<\/b>, daughters <b>Polly<\/b> &amp; <b>Nancy<\/b> and my son <b>Thomas<\/b> $50.00, being the last payment of my land.<\/p>\n<p>I give and bequeath unto my wife <b>Eliza<\/b> $100.00,<\/p>\n<p>and I do utterly disallow, revoke and dis-annul all and every other forever will, testament, Legacies, bequests and Executors before named, willed, bequeathed<\/p>\n<p>and I do hereby make constitute ordain and appoint my wife, <b>Eliza<\/b> and <b>James Hagood<\/b>, Esq.
