{"id":1643,"date":"2014-02-11T15:54:28","date_gmt":"2014-01-26T07:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1643"},"modified":"2014-02-11T15:57:12","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T20:57:12","slug":"mccraw-gabriel-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/mccraw-gabriel-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Gabriel McCraw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: 18px;line-height: 24px\">Will Book __, Page 381<br \/>\nProven: April 2, 1860<\/p>\n<p>I <b>Gabriel McCraw<\/b> of the County of Hawkins and State of Tennessee, being of sound and disposing mind do make and publish this my last Will &amp; Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time made.<\/p>\n<p>And as to such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows:<\/p>\n<p>First. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife <b>Susanna McCraw<\/b> during her natural life all the property both real and personal including all notes and accounts in my favor against all persons whosoever.<\/p>\n<p>Second. I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter <b>Evaline M. Godby<\/b>, formerly <b>Evaline M. Forgey<\/b> who intermarried with <b>Crockett Godby<\/b> at the death of my wife my negro girl <b>Ellen<\/b> and all the children the negro girl may have living at the death of my wife.<\/p>\n<p>Third. I direct that the residue of my property both real and personal shall be sold at the death of my wife at public auction on a credit of 12 months and the proceeds of such sale divided equally between my three daughters <b>Minerva Etter<\/b>, <b>Susan Mayes<\/b> and <b>Adaline E. Senter<\/b>, the rest of my children being already provided for.<\/p>\n<p>And lastly, I do hereby make, ordain and appoint <b>Samuel McCraw<\/b> and <b>William K. Mayes<\/b> Executors of this my last Will and Testament, which office it is my desire they shall hold without security.<\/p>\n<p>In witness whereof I, <b>Gabriel McGraw<\/b>, the Testator, have to this my last Will &amp; Testament written on one sheet of paper only, set my hand and seal this 21st Just, 1858.<\/p>\n<p><b>Gabriel<\/b> [<span style=\"font-style: italic\">X<\/span>] <b>McCraw<\/b> (seal) (his mark)<\/p>\n<p>Signed, sealed and published in presence of us who have subscribed our names in the presence of the Testator and of each other:<\/p>\n<p><b>John S.
