In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n
I, John Headrick<\/b> being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make publish and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner as follows (Viz):<\/p>\n
My body I give to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my friends, and my soul to return to God who gave it.<\/p>\n
After all my just debts are paid, I wish to dispose of my property, both real and personal in the following manner:<\/p>\n
First. I give and bequeath to my wife Rachael<\/b> a certain sorrel mare for her own use and benefit, to dispose of as she pleases.<\/p>\n
The balance of the personal property to be sold, except what she may want to keep for her benefit, except the blacksmith tools is to belong to my son John B. Headrick<\/b>.<\/p>\n
I will to my son James W. Headrick<\/b> one dollar.<\/p>\n
I will to my son Barnard C.<\/b> one dollar.<\/p>\n
I will that the personal property which may be sold…that the proceeds, together with my outstanding debts be collected and the proceeds equally divided between my son Elijah W<\/b>., daughter Peggy Phillips<\/b> and my daughter Ann Walker<\/b>.<\/p>\n
I will that my wife Rachael<\/b> have the use and benefit of the plantation that I now live on during her life, and at her decease, I will that the plantation be sold and the proceeds divided between Elijah W.<\/b>, Peggy Phillips<\/b> & Ann Walker<\/b>.<\/p>\n
I do hereby nominate & appoint James W. Headrick<\/b> to be the Executor of this my last Will & Testament, This 23rd day of September 1847.<\/p>\n
