In the Name of God, Amen.<\/p>\n
I John Cole<\/b> of Hawkins County, Tennessee being very sick and weak but thanks to God of sound disposing mind, and knowing that we all must die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following.<\/p>\n
It is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid and all the balance of my property of every kind and description both personal and real I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Margaret<\/b>.<\/p>\n
And whereas I heretofore sold to Joseph Cole<\/b> (my grandfather) a tact of land lying in the State of Virginia, Washington County for $700.00 which he was to have paid down but I have only received $435.00, the balance to bear interest from the 23rd November, 1825.<\/p>\n
I also sold a small tract to my brother James Cole<\/b> for $55.00, containing five acres which when the above sums are paid, my wife Margaret<\/b> (will) make deeds for said lands sold.<\/p>\n
And I do appoint my beloved wife sole Executrix of this my last will and do not require her to give security.<\/p>\n
In witness I have hereto set my hand and seal This 11th day of September 1826.<\/p>\n
