In the Name of God Amen. <\/p>\n
I William Shanks<\/span> of the County of Hawkins and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory & considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to day: <\/p>\n First. After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of my Estate real and personal, I give, bequeath and dispose of as follows, to wit: <\/p>\n To my dear beloved wife Catharine Shanks<\/span>, all my property and effects, both real and personal during her widowhood, and at her death, the entire property and effects (except one dollar which I give to my daughter Louisiana Hawkins<\/span>). <\/p>\n The entire balance to be equally divided between my several other children, to wit: Martin V. Shanks<\/span>, Eliza Ruth P. Shanks<\/span>, Cyrena G. Shanks<\/span>, Amanda Shanks<\/span>, Hannah H.
