{"id":1066,"date":"2014-01-31T16:17:53","date_gmt":"2014-01-31T21:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1066"},"modified":"2014-01-31T16:17:53","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T21:17:53","slug":"berry-thomas-senior-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/berry-thomas-senior-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Thomas Berry, Senior"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Pages 158-159<br \/>\nFiled and Proven: February 7, 1876<\/p>\n<p>I, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Thomas Berry, Senior<\/span>, do make this my last will and testament.<\/p>\n<p>1st &#8212; I want my funeral expenses paid out of the first money that may come in the hands of my executor and then my debts the next to be paid.<\/p>\n<p>2nd &#8212; I want my personal property all sold on a credit of twelve months, all but my new waggon, which I leave to my son, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Alexander<\/span>, for to recompense him for repairs on my house and barn.<\/p>\n<p>Also I want my daughters, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bernacy (?) Barrett<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aletha Day<\/span> each to have one of my beds, as they never got one when they left me and also if there is another left when made out for the other two for <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rachel McPheron<\/span> to have that, as she had got one when she left.<\/p>\n<p>3rd &#8212; I leave <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">James McPheron<\/span> and my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rachel<\/span> a piece of my land as follows: Beginning on an ash, my corner, and also corner to <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Joshua Berry<\/span> at the mouth of the ___, not far from the house where <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">McPheron<\/span> now lives and then along the ___ to across ___ at or near where the stable stands and with the fence up to the corner on the bank of the little branch and thus some several poles to a large oak in the hollow near my corn parcel and thus some several poles across the knob to strike <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Joshua Berry<\/span>&#8216;s line near a large dead white oak near the line between me and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Joshua Berry<\/span> and then back with our line to the beginning.
