{"id":1043,"date":"2014-01-31T15:26:19","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1043"},"modified":"2014-01-31T15:27:47","modified_gmt":"2014-01-31T20:27:47","slug":"wheeler-aley-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/wheeler-aley-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Aley Wheeler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Page 152<br \/>\nFiled and Proven: September 6, 1875<\/p>\n<p>I, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aley Wheeler<\/span>, of the County of Hawkins and State of Tennessee, being in feeble health, but of sound disposing mind and memory do make this as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at anytime made.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8212; I desire that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be paid as soon after my death as practicable out of any moneys I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of executor hereinafter named.<\/p>\n<p>Secondly &#8212; I give and devise to my daughter, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Louisiana Falkner<\/span>, wife of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Samuel Falkner<\/span>, my entire landed estate, containing the land whereon I now live.<\/p>\n<p>I also give and bequeath to my said daughter, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Louisiana<\/span>, the following named personal property, to wit: my four beds and bed clothing, safe, bureau, tables and all my household and kitchen furniture of every description, waggon, saddle, cow and calf, also an account on <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Samuel Courtney<\/span> for $9.90 and also on the account on <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">William A. Alvis<\/span>, fourteen dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly &#8212; I will and bequeath to my grand children who live in the state of Indiana, the issue of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John Wheeler<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Wheeler<\/span>, my daughter to wit: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hugh Wheeler<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Edith Wheeler<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Nancy Wheeler<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aley Wheeler<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Wheeler<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Margaret Ann Wheeler<\/span>, Four hundred dollars case to be paid by <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Samuel Falkner<\/span> and wife <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Louisiana<\/span>. This bequest is in lieu of one half of my tract of land. I ___ intended to devise to my said grand children who are to share and share alike in said bequest and in lieu is hereby ___ upon said land to secure the payment of the before mentioned four hundred dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly &#8212; I hereby nominate and appoint my esteemed friend <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">John I Hayter<\/span>, executor of this my last will and testament.<\/p>\n<p>In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 14th day of June A.D. 1875.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Aley<\/span> [<span style=\"font-style: italic\">X<\/span>] <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Wheeler<\/span> (her mark) (Seal)<\/p>\n<p>Signed, sealed and acknowledged in our presence on day and date above.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Jas.
