{"id":1004,"date":"2014-01-30T16:40:16","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/?p=1004"},"modified":"2014-01-30T16:41:52","modified_gmt":"2014-01-30T21:41:52","slug":"simpson-elizabeth-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/hawkins\/simpson-elizabeth-will\/","title":{"rendered":"Will of Elizabeth Simpson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Book 2, Pages 137-138<br \/>\nFiled and proved: \u00a0January 1, 1874<\/p>\n<p>I, <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Simpson<\/span>, of the county of Hawkins and State of Tennessee, do make this my will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at anytime made.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8211; It is my will that my bedding and bed clothes and carpeting be equally divided between my two daughters <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Fanny<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Second &#8211; It is my will that my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Fanny<\/span> have all my silver ware.<\/p>\n<p>Third &#8211; It is my will that all the property real and personal of which I may die seized and possessed with the exception of that herein before disposed of be converted into money in the most advantageous manner by my executor as soon after my death as is practical.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth &#8211; It is my will that our of the proceeds of the sale of my property and of such evidence of debts and money I may have, the sum of fifteen hundred dollars, be paid by my executor to my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Fanny<\/span>: that out of the same fund my grandson <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Andrew D. Simpson<\/span> have one thousand dollars and that out of the same fund my daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Elizabeth Shields<\/span> have one thousand dollars, to her own separate use and free from her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth &#8211; It is my will that after satisfying the forgoing specific and pecuniary bequests that the remainder of my estate be equally divided between my fours sons, my said two daughters, the children of my deceased daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Jane Sevier<\/span>, and the daughters of my deceased daughter <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Ann Guthrie<\/span>, the children of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Jane Sevier<\/span> to have the one eighth part, the daughters of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mary Ann Guthrie<\/span> to have the one eighth part, and my said sons and two daughters to take one eighth part each.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth &#8211; I do nominate and appoint my friend <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">F. M.
