The maiden name of his wife, Margaret, not found; seven children — Nancy, Oliver, David, Major J., Charles, Margaret, and Ellen Temple (Mrs. James H. Robinson). Elder in Presbyterian Church. Died at some undetermined date after 1880; place of burial not given. Brother of Chancellor Oliver Perry Temple.
