In the Name of God, Amen.
I, John Bolin of Hawkins County, State of East Tennessee, being sick of body but of sound disposing memory, do resign my soul to Almighty God who gave it and after a decent burial my will is that all my just debts be paid and the balance of my worldly goods I give and bequeath as follows:
Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved Father and Mother all my land together with all my crop and all other property I possess during their lives, and after their death…
Item. My will and desire is that James Bolin should live with his father and mother and take care of them as long as the live and at their death for James Bolin to have all the said property that is left.
I acknowledge this to be my last will and testament. July 29, 1839.
I appoint James Bolin my Executor.
