Andrew Larkins Galbraith was born in Hawkins County, Tennessee on the 25th day of January 1796. The son of John Galbraith and Martha Larkins Andrew served in the War of 1812, when only 16, in Capt. James Cummings Co., of the Tennessee Militia, from 17 October 1813 until discharged on 17 January 1814. He was wounded and was granted a pension. He married Orlena McCraw on 24 May 1827 and they were the parents of 10 children, all of whom were born in Hawkins County. In 1848 he removed to Greene County, Missouri where he died on 16 May 1873. Orlena was the daughter of Gabriel McCraw and Susannah Latham . Apparently Andrew did well financially in Greene County. In 1851 he paid taxes on 4 slaves, 5 horses and 14 cattle. His land holding was listed as 120 acres. In 1856 the tax list shows him with 5 slaves, 6 horses, 14 cattle and 200 acres of land. In the 1860 census he and his daughter Susan are the only members listed in his household. His real estate is valued at $1,500 and his personal property at $5,000 which is very good, for that time in our history.

3. Martha Ellen Galbraith {2769}, b 1 November 1829 (Twin to John), married Francis Edward Watterson {2220} on 16 September 1848. He was the son of Henry Watterson {2822} and Elizabeth Fleshart {2823} Francis was born 22 March 1827 and died 24 November 1897. Martha Ellen died 3 March 1878.
