On motion Col. <strong>Thomas BOYLE<\/strong> was called to the chair, and <strong>J. B. RUFFIN<\/strong> appointed secretary. After the object of the meeting had been explained it was moved that delegates be appointed. The Chairman then appointed the following persons:<\/p>\n<p>Dist No. 1, <strong>G. W. HARRIS<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 2, <strong>Cannon SMITH<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 3, <strong>J. J. POLK<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 4, <strong>John MILLER<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 5, <strong>P. T. JONES<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 6, <strong>M. R. PARRISH<\/strong> and <strong>W. W. MCCARLEY<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 7, <strong>D. J. NEWBERN<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 8, <strong>J. M. WEBB<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 9, <strong>D. F. HAM<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 10, <strong>D. A. FERGURSON<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 11,<strong> H. R. DORRIS<\/strong>, <strong>W. C. ADAMS<\/strong>, <strong>W. S. CARSON<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 12, <strong>Richard TALLY<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 13, <strong>A. S. DORRIS<\/strong>, <strong>A. W. FITZ<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 14, <strong>Wiley FORT<\/strong>, <strong>E. H. DORRIS<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 15, <strong>John MURDAUGH<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 16, <strong>Rev. L. SAVAGE<\/strong><br \/>\nDist No. 17, <strong>H. HUDSON<\/strong>, <strong>John W. WHILBY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In obedience to a motion which prevailed the delegates from Hardemen were instructed to cast their first vote for Hon. <strong>Joseph L. ROSSON<\/strong>.
