My grandfather and grandmother, Josef and Kunigunde KRONSTEINER and their three children, Franz, Maria and Theresa arrived in the U.S. in 1906 at the port of Baltimore, MD. The ship's manifest states that their final (U.S.) destination was Soddy, Tenn. Josef KRONSTEINER was a coal miner from Penzburg, Germany.

I am looking for the parents of Dora MILLER born June,1859 somewhere in Georgia. Here is the information I have found on the 1900 census of the Hamilton County, Chattanooga, Tennessee: George MILLER was the deceased husband of Dora MILLER.
Dora MILLER born June, 1859 (head of houshold) 40yrs (widow)
Sofine MILLER born May,1882 (son) 18yrs
Fred MILLER born July, 1889 (son) 10yrs
Eugene MILLER born March, 1892 (son) 8yrs
Mary MILLER born October, 1898 (daughter) 1yr
Daniel WALKER born, 1849 Virginia (boarder) 59yrs
Between 1898 and 1901 Daniel WALKER married Dora MILLER and they had a daughter born, 1901. and her name is Viola (WALKER) CLAY (Clay being her married name). She was known as Aunt Odie by family members. Dora is believed to be of Cherokee descent. I am also trying to find out if Dora BATTLE and Dora MILLER are the same person. On the 1870 Census of Hamilton County,Tennessee, I see a Dora BATTLE, age eleven, listed as a domestic servant in the household of John M. TODD. She is listed as Mulatto, and also born in Georgia about 1859. The picture that I have of Dora MILLER, shows that she is definitely of mixed blood. Here is the rest of the info that I have on the Todd Family:
1870 Census, Hamilton County, Tennessee:
John M. TODD-age 47; Head of Household
Mary A. TODD-age 43; wife
Edgar G. TODD-age 19; son
Minnie M. TODD-age 6; daughter
Dora BATTLE - age 11; domestic servant
If you think you can connect with any of the people above Please contact me. Also, I found a John C. BATTLE on the 1860 Census of Troup County Georgia's Slave Schedule, owning fifty slaves. I need help!!!

While searching for early TN records for a tie to the Bains of AL, I found a fairly recent Hamilton county obituary for Mary (HOGAN) BAIN, widow of Travis W. BAIN. We have him in our branch of the BAIN family, but nothing about the Hogan connection. I think the obit said she was from Soddy. Does anyone know their ancestry or if there are decendants who might know? Thanks.

Am searching for verification that Beverly CROWELL [male] was born in Chatanooga, Hamilton Co. TN. to Thomas Lee CROWELL and Charlotte (WOOD) CROWELL on 25 July 1853. Are there birth records available for that time? Family information is that he was born near the battlefield of Chattanooga. The CROWELL family was from the Woodbridge, Middlesex Co. New Jersey area. Have no idea why they were in Tennessee. I do not know where his mother Charlotte WOOD is from - maybe in Tennessee. Only thing I have is birthdate is 1821. She died in New Jersey. Another child Albert W. CROWELL was also born in Tennessee in 1850. I have no other information about them. They returned to NJ sometime prior to 1861 because a daughter was born at that time in New Jersey.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. This is a current brick wall for me.

I am searching for information on my great-grand father, James W. McGUIRE who lived in Hamilton County and apprears in the 1850 census for same. He was married to Nancy GREER in about 1846 or 1847. At the time they had one son, John Henry born 26 July, 1848 presumably in Hamilton County and a daughter, Mary who presumably was also born in Hamilton County 18 July 1850. James was the 17th of 25 (2 Marriages) children. Between 1850 and 1853 the family relocated to Smith's Cross Roads, Rhea County, where my grandfather Robert was born 22May, 1853, sons William born about 1855 and James, born about 1857 were also born there. According to my grand father's obituary, the family relocated to Rossville, Kansas in 1871. Mames W. and Nancy are both buried in the cemetery there. He died 31 March 1880 and she died 26 December 1885.
If anyone out there has any information that can help me find out what his parents names and origin were, I'd sincerely appreciate hearing from you, as I am doing our family history and have reached a dead end.
Thanks for you assistance. Robert McGuire, Florence, OR.

I am looking for any information (marriage and or death) on my Aunt Grace (GREENMAN) MILLEN b.1896 in Iowa and her second husband J. (John or James) Marion MILLEN born possibly in TN. They lived for many years on Marlboro Avenue, Chattanooga, TN. My grandparents Herbert K. GREENMAN and Edith "Pearl" (BRIGHAM) GREENMAN who were in advanced years lived with them at that time. I think I finally found my grandparents at least my grandmother's final resting place in Greenwood Cemetery at at least her date of death in July of 1959.
However, have been trying to find my Aunt Grace and Uncle Marion in Tennessee. So far I not have been able to do so. Their names were Grace Helen (GREENMAN) MILLEN and his name was J. Marion MILLEN. This was her second marriage I believe. Sometimes I think she also used her maiden name. I do not know her first married name however but do not think that the marriage lasted very long. I do not know when or where my Aunt and Uncle married either and if it was in another state. It is also a possiblity that they both died in another state also. I really do not know. All I know is that they lived for mahy years in Hamilton County in TN. I think they both died sometime around the 1970's, she first.
Any help that anyone could give to me or any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Blessings,

My ancestor owned this property in the 1800's I would like to find out who owns it now so I can locate it and get a picture of it for my History Book that I am working on. I live in Oklahoma and will be traveling through there on a weekend in mid October. But will not be there on a weekday to do the lookup myself. I would love to get a picture of it and just see it for myself. If anyone can do this for me, I would be so happy.
