Jordan &#8211; GA<\/em><\/p>\n<div><b><\/b>Confederate Soldier: Jesse B. Bynum<\/p>\n<p>Jesse B. Bynum, son of George Bynum and Rebecca B. Thomas, was born on 20 Aug 1833, in Cannon County, Tennessee.&nbsp; He married Mary Catherine Rebecca Hodges on 21 April 1858 in Coffee County, Tennessee.&nbsp; He enlisted in the 44th Tennessee Infantry, Co K in Hillsboro, Tennessee, in 1862.&nbsp; He stayed sick and at home so much, the Yankees were surrounded in the area of his home, causing him not to regroup with his company.&nbsp; Department of Cumberland has him listed as a POW and captured on 03 Jul 1863 at Tullahoma, Tennessee and was released on 09 Jul 1863 upon taking an oath. His wife filed a widow\u2019s pension application in 1907.&nbsp; Jesse died in Tracy City, Grundy County, Tennessee on 24 Oct 1904.&nbsp; He is buried in the Tracy City Cemetery in the back of Section 7.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nObituary for Jesse B. Bynum:<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Grundy, Tracy City, TN, Thursday, 27 October, 1904:<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n&#8220;J. B. Bynum, Sr, agr 71 years, died Sunday night after a few days of illness. He was born in Cannon County and moved here about the year 1884, where has followed the occupation of miner until 5 or 6 years ago having to give up this on account of his health.&nbsp; His wife and nine children survive him four daughters Mrs. R.L. Brannan, Mrs. W.A. Dishroom, Mrs. Tom Anderson, and Mrs. J. Nunley all of&nbsp; this place, and five sons William and Frank of Alabama, Geo of Arkansas, J. B. and John, of this place.&nbsp; Services were held at the residence by Rev. J. D.
