WILSON, William S. enlisted as a Pvt. in early September. In the 1860 Census of Grundy County, Tennessee, he, with family, is enumerated on page 457b/454A, 502/502, Line 22.
Records show a stay at the Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Family ‘scottlebutt’ reports he was slain by rifle fire before end of 1861. His wife, Martha Jane Lockhart Wilson, and two daughters, Sarah Ann and Norna Frances. A third daughter was born, evidently after William’s enlistment. Father to William S: Ballard Green Wilson. His grandfather: Joshua Wilson.
