{"id":868,"date":"2015-09-20T17:51:13","date_gmt":"2015-09-20T22:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/goodspeeds\/?p=868"},"modified":"2017-06-10T07:54:02","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T12:54:02","slug":"levi-madison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/goodspeeds\/levi-madison\/","title":{"rendered":"MADISON, Levi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>LEVI MADISON&#8217;S<\/strong> birth occurred July 1, 1822, in the State of Kentucky.\u00a0 His parents <strong>James and Minnie (Loyd) Madison<\/strong>, were also born in Kentucky, and died when our subject was quite young.\u00a0 He made his home with<strong> Samuel Thompson<\/strong> until he was fourteen years old and in 1889 went to Texas, where he lived one year and then returned.\u00a0 He worked at the blacksmith&#8217;s trade in Shelbyville four years and then farmed one year, and then continued his trade seven years.\u00a0 In 1852, he purchased the Ransom Stephens farm, where he lived up to 1883.\u00a0 He then moved to his present place of residence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>William D. W.<\/strong> is a son born to his union with <strong>Nancy J.
