Greer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>J. GREER WIGGINS<\/strong>, a farmer of Bedford County, was born December 29, 1842.\u00a0 He is the son of <strong>Benjamin F. and Jane H. (Greer) Wiggins<\/strong>.\u00a0 The father was born in North Carolina, and in the early part of his life immigrated to Tennessee and settled in Bedford County.\u00a0 He left and went to Mississippi, but in a short time returned to Bedford County.\u00a0 He was a farmer, and reared a family of eight children:\u00a0 <strong>J. Greer, John S., Sarah E., Mary .T., William J., Benjamin F., Thomas H. and Fannie E<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Sarah E. and Mary J.<\/strong> are both dead.\u00a0 <strong>Benjamin F<\/strong>. died in 1883.\u00a0 Mrs. Wiggins died about 1880.<\/p>\n<p>Our subject was a country boy, and received a good practical education in the common schools.\u00a0 In 1871 be was united in marriage to <strong>Miss Emily V. Evans<\/strong>, daughter of <strong>Hampton Evans.<\/strong>\u00a0 To this union were born four children:\u00a0 <strong>Bessie F., A.
