{"id":1010,"date":"2015-09-21T22:39:04","date_gmt":"2015-09-22T03:39:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/goodspeeds\/?p=1010"},"modified":"2017-06-10T07:53:38","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T12:53:38","slug":"micager-troxler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/goodspeeds\/micager-troxler\/","title":{"rendered":"TROXLER, Micager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MICAGER TROXLER<\/strong> is a native Tennesseean, born January 25, 1839, and is residing in the home of his birth, where he owns 110 acres of good land.\u00a0 In 1862 he enlisted in the Confederate Army under Bushrod Johnson and served until December, 1863, when he was taken sick and captured.\u00a0 He was paroled and sent home but never returned to service.<\/p>\n<p>November 20, 1860, he married <strong>Mary A. Shofner<\/strong>, who was born December 3, 1842.\u00a0 She was a daughter of <strong>Frederick and Mary (McKaig) Shofner,<\/strong> and died April 11, 1864.\u00a0 Mr. Troxler then wedded, in 1865, his second wife, <strong>Mary A. Dean<\/strong>, a daughter of <strong>John and Sarah (Shofner) Troxler<\/strong>, who were born in 1791 and 1796 and died in 1871 and 1869, respectively.\u00a0 Mrs. Troxler was born October 20, 1838.<\/p>\n<p>Our subject is a member of the K. of H., and is also a member of Freemason lodge No. 308.\u00a0 He and Mrs. Troxler are members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and he is a stanch supporter of Democratic principles.\u00a0 His parents, <strong>Isaac and Elizabeth (Payne) Troxler<\/strong>, were born in North Carolina and Tennessee, respectively, in 1803.\u00a0 The father was brought to Tennessee by his parents in 1810, and November 2, 1825, he wedded our subject&#8217;s mother and became the father of ten children.\u00a0 His death occurred March 15, 1866, and the mother&#8217;s June 20, 1848.<\/p>\n<p>Transcribed by Kathryn Hopkins<\/p>\n<p>Goodspeed Publishing Co.\u00a0<i>History of Tennessee from the Earliest Time to the Present: Together with an Historical and a Biographical Sketch of Maury, Williamson, Rutherford, Wilson, Bedford &amp; Marshall Counties, Besides a Valuable Fund of Notes, Reminescences [Sic], Observations, Etc., Etc<\/i>.
