SNELL, W.B.

W. B. SNELL was born February 2, 1850, in Bedford County, Tenn.  He is a son of J. C. Snell, who was born in 1817, and is a native of the county.  The mothers name was Sarah H. Snell.

Our subject was reared on a farm, and worked on the same with his father until he was twenty-five years of age, at which time he began farming for himself, and has continued successfully up to the present date.  He was married, October 29, 1874, to Virginia C. Carlyle, of Bedford County, and daughter of James and Elizabeth Carlyle.  They have two children:  Jasper B. and Thomas Kelly.  In his political views Mr. Snell favors the Democratic party and gives it his support on all occasions.  He takes an active interest in all enterprises pertaining to the public good, and is a man who commands the respect of all.
