* George DODSON was a military pensioner listed on the 1840 Giles County Census, Page 131. See Giles County Revolutionary War Records and Dodson Families of Giles County
** The name of Melinda Beal Gee was originally transcribed as Melinda Gu Beal, but its order in this list is as shown above: in the section for surnames beginning with the letter "E," but immediately preceding the section for surnames beginning with "G." Was she the M. BEAL on the 1840 Giles County Census, p. 117, where the eldest female in the household is 30-40, the only male, 15-20, and 3 females between 5 and 20? In 1848, there are no 99 acre tracts in District 16, but there is a 74 acre on Clear Creek tract taxed to "Micagin Beal's Hers" [Micajah Beal's Heirs?], and a 25 acre tract on Clear Creek taxed to John Camper, who is also taxed on an 86 [sic] acre tract on Richland Creek (Giles County Historical Society). The only Beal in the district is Alfred who tithes 1 white poll (no land or slaves). In 1850, Giles County Census District 12 HH 80 consists of John Camper, 69, VA, Malinda CAMPER, 50, NC, and Malinda BEAL, 21, TN. No Beals remain in District 16, and no Alfred Beal is in this census (Giles County Historical Society). No Micajah (or var. sp.) Beal is found on the 1830 Giles Census.
