My husband and I will be traveling through Gibson County next month as part of my genealogy research project.\u00a0 My grandfather William C Horner was born in Dyer in 1895; he was the son of Robert Lee Horner.\u00a0 According to the census records, Robert’s family moved to Obion and that’s where my grandfather spent most of his childhood.<\/p>\n
In the 1900 census the family was recorded in Civil District 21, Gibson, TN In the 1910 census the family was recorded in Civil District 8, Obion, TN.\u00a0\u00a0Is there a way to find out the physical location of these Civil Districts?\u00a0 I haven’t worked much with census records.\u00a0 Also, is there a way to find out the schools that existed a hundred years ago?<\/p>\n
