After the death of our aunt, Isabella Griswold Shelton in 1947, our uncle E.C. Shelton, gave the Bible to Mattie. Aunt Belle Shelton was the oldest child and only daughter of our grandfather, George Gilbert Griswold. G.G. Griswold was born 29 Feb. 1848. He and his twin brother David Murphy Griswold were the 12th and 13th children born to Stephen M. and Sarah Purdom Griswold. Griswold Died 8<sup>th<\/sup> Oct. 1846, in Casa County, Kentucky on his return from the war in Mexico; aged, 21 years and 5 months.<\/p>\n<p>Dewitt Clinton Griswold was shot the 12 and died the 13 of Dec. 1864 aged 21.10.4<br \/>\nDewitt Clinton Griswold Left home on the 27 of April, 1861 and got back home on the 25 of July, 1862. And this is the 27 of July, 1862. Left on Friday and got back on Friday. Dewitt C. Griswold Taken prisoner 4 day July, 1863 Released out of prison the 18 day of Oct., 1864 And got Home the 18<sup>th<\/sup> of Nov. 1864.<\/p>\n<p>Isabella Griswold Meeks died the 2d day of Jan. 1871 aged 25 years, 2 months and [ink blot] days old.<\/p>\n<p>George W. Long was Born aug. the 15 1859.<br \/>\nMiney B. Long was Born the 28 of December 1862 and Died the 11? of June 1864.<br \/>\nPeter B. Long Died Sept. the 25 1862.<br \/>\nWillson Purdom was born March 23<sup>d<\/sup> 1818 and Died July 1863.<br \/>\nNancy Adeline Street died the 5<sup>th<\/sup> of Sept. 1873 Aged, if she had lived until the 16<sup>th<\/sup>, she would have been 14 months Old.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Sanders Died the 14<sup>th<\/sup> August 1874. Death caused by falling off what is known as the Stone Door near Beersheba Springs, in Grundy County, Tenn.<\/p>\n<p>__t ____ing and ____ing [smudged] this Oct. 1<sup>st<\/sup> 185(5 or 8?). [smudged] <sup>th<\/sup> [smudged] minutes after 8 o&#8217;clock Friday night Aged 48 years 2 months, 17\/19? days in Warren County, McMinnville, Tenn.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen M. Griswold Died 5 Day October 1879 Age 79 in grundy Co.
