After the death of our aunt, Isabella Griswold Shelton in 1947, our uncle E.C. Shelton, gave the Bible to Mattie. Aunt Belle Shelton was the oldest child and only daughter of our grandfather, George Gilbert Griswold. G.G. Griswold was born 29 Feb. 1848. He and his twin brother David Murphy Griswold were the 12th and 13th children born to Stephen M. and Sarah Purdom Griswold. We are quite sure Aunt Belle was given the Bible by her father, who died in April 1917.”

Long was Born aug. the 15 1859. Robert Sanders Died the 14th<\/sup> August 1874. Griswold Taken prisoner 4 day July, 1863 Released out of prison the 18 day of Oct., 1864 And got Home the 18th<\/sup> of Nov. 1864.<\/p>\n
\nMiney B. Long was Born the 28 of December 1862 and Died the 11? of June 1864.
\nPeter B. Long Died Sept. the 25 1862.
\nWillson Purdom was born March 23d<\/sup> 1818 and Died July 1863.
\nNancy Adeline Street died the 5th<\/sup> of Sept. 1873 Aged, if she had lived until the 16th<\/sup>, she would have been 14 months Old.<\/p>\n
\nSarah Griswold died March 28, 1883.<\/p>\n
