TAYLOR, NUGENT

Miles TAYLOR (b c1814 SC) md. Margaret NUGENT (b c1816 TN) in Franklin Co, TN, 19 Aug 1838. They removed to Jackson Co, AL, about 1844. Children were: Rebecca A. (c1839 TN); William A. (c1843 TN); Benjamin (c1845 AL); Sarah Elizabeth (27 Nov 1846 AL) md. James Marion Houk; Manervy J.or F. (c1848 AL); and James (c1839 AL). It is assumed that Margaret NUGENT was dau. of John NUGENT (c1795 SC) and Martha (c1805 TN). Miles Taylor and John Nugent were living just 2 doors apart in the 1840 Census of Franklin Co. Besides Margaret, other possible children of John & Martha are: Elizabeth (c1822 TN); Jane (c1825 TN); Mary Ann (c1829 TN); Musadore(?) (c1834 TN); and Minerva (c1835 TN). Would like for anyone who is researching either of these families or with relevant information to please contact me via e-mail.

Researching ADKERSON surname. Have found John ADKERSON listed on Franklin County Tax List 1812. Specifically looking for references to Henry ADKERSON born 1848-1850. Henry ADKERSON served in a South Carolina unit in Georgia called Chathams Ga. Artillery during the Civil War. Henry ADKERSON was in his teens during the Civil War and reportedly was from Sand Mountain Alabama but there are no ADKERSONs in Dekalb County 1850 census. I know there are a number of ADKERSONs througout Tennessee and am just following some tenuous leads to the counties bordering Alabama and Georgia.

KING, BURROWS

Meredith KING is on the 1812 tax/voters list for Franklin Co, TN. By 1820, Meredith is in Franklin Co, AL, as are several other families from Franklin Co, TN. Anthony and John BURROWS are on the 1812 tax list, also, and in 1820 John and Francis Burrows are in Franklin Co, AL.I don’t see a John Burrows in the 1820 Franklin Co, TN, census, although there is an Elijah Burrus. One reason I had not really paid attention to this Burrows family particularly was that in studying the King families of Franklin Co, I had been told that the wife of Thomas King was a Waggoner, and I know of a Johnson King who married a Waggoner in Greene Co, TN, figured the Johnson King in 1820 Franklin co, TN, was married to a Waggoner, but in going through some notes I see that another researcher says the wife of Thomas King was a Burrows. I would like to hear from anyone researching the Burrows family. Where had they lived before coming to TN? Is anything known about John in Franklin Co, AL? Any known King/Burrows connection?
