Looking for any background data on Elizabeth Patton, who was the second wife of David Crockett (Alamo). She was a widow whose maiden name was Patton, and whose first husband was named Patton. They had come from North Carolina. After being widowed, she and David were married in 1816 in Franklin County?. She is buried in Acton, Texas, having died about 1870 after migrating from west Tennessee to Texas in 1849 with some of her children, including Robert Patton Crockett. His son, Ashley Wilson Crockett, is my grandfather. I have extensive info on David, of course, but very little on Elizabeth. Will provide what data I have on her descendents in Texas.

Seeking the parents of Dorothy Viola Moran Graham, b 21 Jan 1917 Sewanee, Franklin County, TN Died; 23 Aug 1984, Brooksville, Hernando County, FL. She was given up for adoption by her father, Tom MORAN at the tender age of 6 months–her mother, Peggy Jane STWEART had just past away. Reportedly she was signed over for adoption by Dr. Leair. She was raised to the age of 11 by Miss Elizabeth Graham in Volusia County, FL. The only proven fact I have is that Miss Graham was her mother’s sister. At age 11 she was placed in the Children’s Home Society for further adoption. She married James Ellis LOTT 18 Dec 1937 and raised 12 children. Info on her past would greatly help the children she left behind. Please e-mail me if you can help.

In 1812 tax list for Franklin Co, Meredith King is listed, along with several other Kings, including James, Anuel, Johnson (2), Thomas and maybe others. Anuel King is a known descendant of Peter King of Greene Co TN and Guilford Co NC. Thomas was from the Kings of Orange Co NC and Brunswick Co VA. There is a James in the Rev War pension files that served in northeastern TN and said he lived in Franklin Co TN–the time frome appears about right for him to be the one in 1812 tax list, died Hardin Co TN. Meredith was in the War of 1812, they were in the campaign in Indian Territoryin AL. By 1820 Meredith and apparently a number of other families from the Franklin Co TN area were in Franklin Co, AL, having been influenced by Major Russell to move there. Did Meredith King belong to one of these three King lines? Or were there more than three lines in Franklin Co TN at that early date?
