I am looking for information on a Martin Adams family from Franklin county. They moved there between 1811-20. Martin Adams married a Alley (Elsa/Alsy) Powell in 1811 in NC. He had 3 children from a previous marriage. One of the boys was Martin F. Adams, my wife’s gggrandfather. Martin F. married a woman named Minerva ______? around 1830-31 and they had 2 boys there in Franklin county. James M. born around 1831-32 and Marquis D. Lafayette Adams born 1833. They moved to Tishomingo County Miss., between 1836-38 and I have information from Mississippi. I would appreciate any help or information on this family.

GARNER DUTTON I request information on the parentage of Calvin Commodore Garner, who married Malitha Ann Dutton in 1874 in Franklin County. Witness on his marriage license was John H. Clark, who afterward married Mary Crownover. I suspect that Garner and Clark may have resided in the same county before arriving in Franklin County. Neither name appears in Franklin County in the 1860 census, and Garner is not there in the 1870 census either. Dutton appears to be from Dade County, Georgia.

Isham was born in Virginia in about 1750. William served in the War of 1812 with General Andrew Jackson in the Tennessee Militia. He had two sons born in Franklin Co., Charles Tellis (C.T.) and Jessee Pierce. C. T. was born on July 4, 1820 and Jesse on Dec. 24, 1825. C. T. married Nancy Davis.
