Grimes<\/b>\u00a0was born in Dickson County, Tenn., October 10, 1842, being a son of\u00a0<b>Joe<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Hulda Jane (Walker) Grimes<\/b>. At the age of seventeen years he enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1861 under\u00a0<b>Capt. Malroy<\/b>, Company E. Eleventh Tennessee Regiment, for twelve months, and served throughout the war, receiving a severe wound in the thigh at Chickamauga, which disabled him for work a year, during which time he was confined in the hospital at Montgomery, Ala. He now resides with his father, having never married. He is about forty-four years of age, and is quite well to do in worldly goods.
