Rufus Ferbee<\/b>\u00a0was born in Dickson County, Tenn., February 6, 1831, being the youngest of six children born to\u00a0Thomas\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0Mrs. Ferbee<\/b>. The parents were natives of\u00a0Norfolk County<\/b>, Va. Our subject began farming at the age of twenty years, which occupation he followed for about twenty years, and has been quite successful in his business ventures. He has served one term as sheriff of Dickson County, and has also filled the office of constable, being elected to the latter office about 1871, and served two years. December 31, 1859, he was united in marriage to\u00a0Elena S. Harris<\/b>, and to them have been born twelve children\u00ad, seven sons and five daughters\u00ad, two of whom are dead. Our subject is at present engaged in farming, and is a highly respected citizen and a man of considerable influence in his community.
