Taylor<\/b> was born in <a title=\"Davidson County, TN\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tngenweb.org\/davidson\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Davidson County<\/b><\/a>, Tenn., January 9, 1836, the son of <b>Bartley<\/b> and <b>Mary Taylor<\/b>. The father was born in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tngenweb.org\/williamson\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Williamson County <\/b><\/a>December 25, 1808. The parents came to Jones Creek, Dickson County, in 1861, where they are still living, making their home with <b>William H.<\/b> In the year 1861 our subject entered in the civil war, joining Company B, Forty-ninth Tennessee Regiment. He entered as orderly sergeant and was promoted to second lieutenant, which office he held till the close of the war. While at Atlanta, Ga., he received a severe wound in the right arm, disabling him for three months. In 1868 he was married to <b>Mary E. Richardson<\/b>. To them were born six children: <b>Sallie W.<\/b>,<b> Mary L.<\/b>, <b>Henry T.<\/b>, <b>Lavienia<\/b>, <b>Ellen J.<\/b> and <b>Edward<\/b>. In his political views Mr. Taylor is a Democrat, and is a man of good standing among his fellow-citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>William H.
