The father was justice of the peace for several years. His death occurred March 26, 1863 (see <b>W. T. Nesbitt<\/b> for sketch of father). The mother was born in Dickson County in 1824, and died in 1866. Our subject was but fifteen years old at the time of his father&#8217;s death, and has since then been at work for himself, being a farmer by occupation. February 24, 1875, he was married to <b>Minerva J. Dickson<\/b>, who was born in <b>Houston County<\/b> March 29, 1856. They have three children: <b>Andrew J.<\/b>,<b> Lillie Bell<\/b> and <b>Clarence V.<\/b> The wife is a member of the <a title=\"Cumberland Presbyterian Churches\" href=\"http:\/\/tngenweb.org\/dickson\/cumberland-presbyterian-churches\/\"><b>Cumberland Presbyterian Church<\/b><\/a>.
