Migrated to Tenn. with his brother-in-law and sister, George and Elizabeth Gilmore Davidson. Matthew also had some other siblings that migrated through Middle Tn. also. His brother-in-law and sister James and Jean McCrory,another brother-in-law and sister Alex and Jane Scott.Two brother&#8217;s who&#8217;s where abouts have yet to be discovered were William and James Gilmore. Matthew migrated to Tenn. He went to Blount Co. where he married Margaret Logan in 1800. His brother-in-law George Davidson was witness. Matthew took his new bride to Dickson County where they lived on Cedar Creek Road in a log home on the banks of the creek,on the outskirts of Yellow Creek. Through the Dickson County Court Minutes we found that Matthew was active in the community as a juror for several terms, as a Captain in the Tennessee Militia for Dickson County, as a road surveyor.Matthew and Margaret Gilmore had atleast one child:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>JAMES GILMORE;<\/strong> Born &#8212; 10-27-1803 in Dickson County<br \/>\nDied&#8212;1880 married Elizabeth Waller Balthrop<\/p>\n<p>James and Elizabeth Balthrop Gilmore had the following children:<br \/>\nMary Ann Gilmore&#8211;dob 1827 married Richard Turner<br \/>\nJames M. Gilmore&#8211;dob 1830<br \/>\nRobert Matthew Gilmore dob 3\/8\/1832 married Letitia Taylor and was heir of homeplace.Died 2\/15\/1917.<br \/>\nNancy Catherine Gilmore&#8211;dob 8\/20\/1844 married Menoah Taylor<br \/>\nLucinda B. Gilmore&#8212;-dob 1842 married W.P. Sensing<br \/>\nSara J. Gilmore&#8211;dob 1835<br \/>\nMartha A. Gilmore&#8211;dob 1837<br \/>\nElizabeth C. Gilmore&#8211;dob 1840<br \/>\nLouise Tennessee&#8211;dob 1849<br \/>\nSamuel F. Gilmore &#8212;dob 10-27-1828&#8211;died 7\/26\/1897<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAMUEL F. GILMORE:<\/strong><br \/>\nborn 10\/27\/1828 (son of Samuel and Elizabeth Gilmore above) in Dickson County.Married 11-19-1857 in Dickson County to Jeraldine A. Mitchell. The couple remained in the same area of Dickson County. They lived on Bear Creek Road in a log home.The couple had the following children:<br \/>\nSamuel Jr.<br \/>\nLee<br \/>\nW.James&#8211;dob 1859<br \/>\nM.F. &#8220;Node&#8221; &#8212;dob 1870 died 1953 married Martha Molly Adams.<br \/>\nNeally<br \/>\nClarence G.&#8211;dob 1874 died1933.
