{"id":26,"date":"2013-01-19T23:37:12","date_gmt":"2013-01-20T05:37:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/dickson2\/?page_id=26"},"modified":"2013-01-19T23:37:34","modified_gmt":"2013-01-20T05:37:34","slug":"2003-reunions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/dickson\/2003-reunions\/","title":{"rendered":"2003 Reunions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\">I just want everyone to know my Ragan Family Reunion will be held at the<br \/>\nSlayden Community Center on the 4th Saturday in September.\u00a0 This is the<br \/>\nfamily of William Monroe and Maude Blocker Ragan of Cumberland<br \/>\nFurnace\/Slayden area.\u00a0 Their daughter, Lorene Ragan Powell, lives in<br \/>\ntheir old home still.\u00a0 Her brother, Jack Ragan of Nashville is my<br \/>\ngreat-uncle.\u00a0 They are the oldest living members of our family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Anyone is welcome to come.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">By the way, I want to thank everyone that is involved in this web site.<br \/>\nI can&#8217;t tell you how much I enjoy reading all the emails.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Hope to see some of you in September.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Rachel Ragan Montuori<br \/>\nFranklin, TN<\/p>\n<hr style=\"width: 100%;\" width=\"100%\" \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>TYCER FAMILY REUNION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A TYCER family Reunion is scheduled for October 2, 3, &amp; 4, 2003.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Honoring Ellis TYCER, Revolutionary War Veteran (NC Militia), and his<br \/>\nfamily, the reunion&#8217;s first two days will be held in Portland, Oregon,<br \/>\nOct. 2 &amp; 3.\u00a0 A picnic has been planned at the Brownsville Pioneer Park,<br \/>\nBrownsville, Oregon on Saturday, Oct 4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ellis TYCER was born in Northumberland Co., VA in 1756.\u00a0 He enlisted<br \/>\ninto the Revolutionary War at Halifax Co., VA, serving under General<br \/>\nGreen.\u00a0 Following discharge from service, he lived in Halifax County, VA<br \/>\nand Wilkes Co., NC.\u00a0 He arrived in Davidson Co., TN in 1792 and by 1803<br \/>\nsettled in Dickson County, TN where he died in 1846.\u00a0 It is believed,<br \/>\nbut not documented, that his wife was Rachel STANSBURY.\u00a0 Nine or ten<br \/>\nchildren were born to this union of which five have been positively<br \/>\nidentified.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Prior to 1840 two of his sons, Lewis &amp; Allan, left Dickson Co. TN for<br \/>\ncentral Missouri (Carroll, Chariton and Putnam Counties). Lewis and his<br \/>\nfamily (second wife Frances Jane SANDERS) emigrated to The Oregon<br \/>\nTerritory in 1853 (Linn, Josephine, and Crook Counties).\u00a0 Lewis was<br \/>\nfirst married to Sarah Angelina WRIGHT who died about 1840.\u00a0 Alan, wife<br \/>\nPernina FREEMAN and their family remained in Missouri.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The oldest daughter, Martha TYCER married John NESBITT.\u00a0 They settled in<br \/>\nHardin and Wayne Co., TN after 1820.\u00a0 Daughter, Louisa TYCER, who<br \/>\nmarried Thomas M. WHEELER, lived in Wayne Co., TN, Dent and Crawford<br \/>\nCo., MO with descendants settling in Oregon Co., MO, Bingham and Bannock<br \/>\nCo., ID, Beaver Co., OK, Wyandotte Co., KS, and San Francisco Co., CA.<br \/>\nDaughter Letticia TYCER married Rev. John W. RAGAN and they settled<br \/>\nfirst in Wood and then Hunt Co., TX after 1855.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">TYCER relatives are expected from Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California,<br \/>\nIdaho, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oregon, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, North &amp;<br \/>\nSouth Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For information contact<br \/>\nLewis M.
